‘One Word’: LUCKY
My ‘One Word’ this week is: LUCKY

𝐈𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤. 𝐈’𝐦 𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞.
The day I walked away from my corporate career with no backup plan, I came home, sat at the kitchen table, and told my wife:
“𝐈 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲.”
Her immediate response?
“𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨.”
I said, “Are you sure? We’ll have to revamp everything.”
She looked at me and said,
“𝐀𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬. 𝐖𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤.”
That’s Sharon (Doc).
𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫. 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭?
If we can conquer that, we can conquer anything.
Eight years later, this crazy 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 mission is thriving because she never let me quit.
When I was apprehensive about doing the 𝐓𝐄𝐃𝐱 talk out of fear, Sharon didn’t just encourage me.
She held my hand and helped me write it, word by word, draft by draft, until I had the courage to step into the 🔴 and share what I believed so strongly with the world.
What I shared inside that 🔴, and what Sharon always knew, was this:
𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐧.
That’s the key to personal branding.
𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐌𝐄 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐖𝐄 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞.
She’s not just my partner in life.
𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.
💪🏻 She reads every 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 Workbook, even while on call delivering babies.
💪🏻 She challenges my thinking. She sharpens the insights.
💪🏻 We’ve had some epic debates over client stories, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
Because every time we finalize someone’s 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝, Sharon is right there with me, helping another person share who they are with the world.
That’s what she’s always done.
𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞. 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡. 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥.
Which is why Sharon, the OB-GYN in scrubs, has a 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 that fits her perfectly:
𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐑
✅ High school students.
✅ College students.
✅ Entrepreneurs.
✅ Business leaders.
Here 𝐖𝐄 come.
𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫.
Thank you, Doc.
❤️ For your love.
❤️ For your fight.
❤️ For your belief.
You saw it before I did.
Now, we’re building it together, 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 at a time.
𝐏.𝐒. 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧, 𝐈 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 😜!
