‘One Word’: GRATITUDE

My ‘One Word’ this week is: GRATITUDE

Every single person that comes into your life helps you move one step closer to your North Star.

The way to understand *how* is to start by helping them first.

I’ve been asked over the last couple of months, “How were you able to get on the TEDx Manhattan Beach stage?”

The answer is simple:

SERVANT LEADERSHIP.

Let me explain…

In Fall 2021, Diana Allen reached out to connect after being at an event called Brilliant, where she listened to me being interviewed by Keri Murphy, CEO of Inspired Living.

From the moment the Zoom started, Diana and I clicked. Her authenticity in wanting to hear about my journey to becoming an entrepreneur at age 50 made me feel like I’d known her all my life.

Diana mentioned that she was thinking about her own “Act 2,” but didn’t know where to begin…

From the little bit of background she shared, I had a hunch that there was a powerful core value inside of her that could bring clarity to her entire story – and become the anchor with which she could create her next venture.

The brand bells started going off in my head, and I knew I could help her get a jumpstart by offering her my ‘One Word’ program, complementary.

My hunch was correct, and we’re currently at work on some great brand foundation work together as a result of discovering her powerful ‘One Word’: BARRIER-BREAKER!

At the end of the Zoom, Diana asked me what my goals were for 2022. I mentioned that one of my bucket list items, after quitting my corporate career, was to do a TEDx Talk.

That’s when Diana shared that she recruits speakers for TEDx Manhattan Beach. But in that moment, I didn’t think that my ‘One Word’ branding philosophy was a good enough idea worth sharing.

However, after completing my program, Diana did – and in April 2022, she surprised me with the news that I was invited to speak inside the red dot.

Never in a million years did I expect that the person who connected with me at a conference (I didn’t attend) would give me a global platform to share my idea of distilling your personal brand identity down to ‘One Word’!

If you want to reach your goals and dreams, start by helping others reach theirs first.

Lead with your heart. I promise it will change the trajectory of your life, like it did mine.

‘One Word’ for you, Diana: GRATITUDE!

Who are *you* helping first?
