‘One Word’: TESTIMONIALS
WHAT I GOT WRONG ABOUT TESTIMONIALS
My ‘One Word’ this week is: TESTIMONIALS

We don’t always trust what we see!
A five-⭐️ review. A glowing endorsement. A perfectly worded testimonial.
Because let’s be honest—who’s going to post a negative one?
I used to feel awkward asking for them. What if someone’s experience wasn’t positive? What if they felt obligated to say something nice?
But building my ‘𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝’ 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 over the last seven years has completely shifted my perspective.
Because when you offer something 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞—something you know will profoundly 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬—people need proof before they believe it can work for them.
And testimonials? They’re not about me.
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲’𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞!
I can’t tell you how many clients have been moved to tears when they discover their ‘𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝.’
And when I ask them why, I hear the same thing:
“𝐹𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦, 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑔𝑒𝑡𝑠 𝑚𝑒.”
But here’s the real truth:
It’s not about someone else seeing you. It’s about you finally seeing yourself.
𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑓–𝑟𝑒𝑓𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑠𝑛’𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑦.
And when we’re facing setbacks and uncertainty, it’s even harder.
Most of us don’t take enough time to truly understand who we are.
But maybe it’s time we start.
Because time after time, I’ve seen the impact firsthand.
My ‘𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝’ process helps clients shift from defining themselves by what they 𝐃𝐎 to embracing who they truly 𝐀𝐑𝐄.
And that shift? It changes everything.
Now, I ask all my clients one simple question after our Zoom session
“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 ‘𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝’ 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮?”
Let their words speak for themselves:
✨ “My ‘𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝,’ brought tears to my eyes. I could feel the energy shift within me!” – 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐜𝐚, 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐑𝐎𝐑
✨ “Rich opened a door in my mind and heart that connected my gifts to my mission!” – 𝐒𝐮𝐞, 𝐔𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄
✨ “Rich’s ‘𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝’ philosophy is genius!” – 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐞, 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐑
✨ “Even since you gave me my ‘One Word’, things have opened up for me” – 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲, 𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬
✨ “Rich helped me discover the heart and soul of who I am in – ‘One Word’ – and how to present myself to colleges.” – 𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧, 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒
My ‘𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝’, CATALYST, changed my life.
And ‘𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝’ can do the same for you.
