‘One Word’: REPUTATION

My ‘One Word’ this week is: REPUTATION

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬…𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭?

In today’s world, people form an opinion about you long before you shake their hand, walk into the room, or show up on a screen. That opinion determines whether they open the door wider or close it before you even get the chance to step inside.

You have two options:

✅ Brand yourself

or

❌ Let others brand you based on fragments, assumptions, and their own narrative.

Branding yourself does NOT start with a website, a logo, or even a résumé.

𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲.

💪🏼 Clarity about who you are.

💪🏼 Clarity about the core value you give away.

💪🏼 Clarity about the thread that ties your story together.

For me, that thread begins with 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝.

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 that captures your core value, the quality you give away to help others win.

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞. 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬.

When people remember, repeat, and trust that core value, your reputation works for you before you even walk into the room.

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞.

And when you control the narrative, you decide how the world sees you and the opportunities that come your way.

So, who is telling your story right now? You or them?
