‘One Word’: KINDNESS
My ‘One Word’ this week is: KINDNESS
Not one person we met in 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 was rude. Not one. What stood out most wasn’t just the wildlife, food, or the wine.

It was the 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒.
𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝟏𝟔-𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬, 𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐲𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠.
🌟 From the hotel staff who greeted us with genuine smiles…
🌟 To the people who quietly cleaned our rooms with pride and gratitude…
🌟 To the guides and trackers who treated their work as joy, not obligation…
No one seemed rushed. No one seemed irritated.
They were simply present, grateful to be doing what they do.
𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐭.
It made me reflect on what we often forget back home.
In a time when divisiveness dominates headlines, when opinions divide families and friendships, 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 reminded me that 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 is universal.
We don’t have to agree on everything.
But we can choose to be 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝.
We can choose to appreciate what others bring to this world.
And we can choose to pass that same energy forward, to the people we live with, work with, and meet along the way.
𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝: Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are, do it with 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, gratitude, and heart.
The ripple it creates is far greater than you’ll ever know.
